lndustrial automation is setting trends in the manufacturing circuit, minimising manual work without compromising output and capacities. Single machines packed with multiple functions are a sound solution in the light of manpower shortages and the need for cost-effective processes. ln fact, this is a ripe global market, which could reach US$200 billion by 2015 based on a forecast for the industrial automation sector by IMS, a UK-based market consultancy group. Gatering to this trend is auxiliary and automation equipment company Azo, which is also seeing a healthy growth of its systems, especially the Mixomat mixer, in Asia.

Variety in mixer feeding

As varied as the products are, which are produced in the food industry, as varied are the mixing processes. In batch processes pneumatic feeding is still actual, both single pipe systems as well as multi pipe systems. In connection with advanced process control and visualization technology the feeding process can be controlled and monitored by tracking and tracing. If absolute contamination freedom is required, fully automated container systems are the optimal choice. These are sustainable and energy-efficient and thus generate an economic mixer feeding. In continuous mixing processes the feeding should be also continuously. If the number of components for the mixing process is very high, hybrid systems can also be used (a combination of pneumatic suction weighing systems and container systems).
